Question:

Is it not embarassing that it's called Henman Hill?

Everytime I hear them on the BBC say Henman Hill it just makes me cringe. How low are britains standards that we named the hill after someone who has never won any major championship? Usually you name things after legends. Henman is no legend. Why not name it sampras hill or becker hill, etc. Or quite simply just 'The Hill'?

  1. Neither Becker (German) nor Sampra (American) are Brits, so you will never see it referred as such.  Henman has been the most prominent male Brit to-date, maybe with the exception of Murray.

Although watch him get thrashed by Nadal!

  2. I've heard it being called Murray Mound recently. I think it's more or less to show support for the Brit in Wimbledon rather than immortalizing them by naming it.
