  1. Yes you can. As long as you are using a Free-to-Air satellite set-top-box and your dish is facing a satellite which has FTA channels available with good signal ofcourse.

  2. so to the Tv stations website, youtube

  3. No man, you need a HD antenna. Go to this site to check and see what the strength of your antenna needs to be. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.asp... Click "choose your antenna" and put your info in and it will give you a listing of channels you can get in your area as well as antenna suggestions. You really should get the antenna cuz free HD is a must. Especially PBS, HD games and programming.

  4. You need an amplified UHF antenna and some coax.  You will also need to check the web to see which way the antenna should point (same direction as other people's UHF antennas on tops of their houses). Tune your TV to "TV" mode (HD), not cable, and let it seek the channels.  You will pick them up on the "tenths", i.e., if you are used to getting channel 17, you will see HD on 17.1, 17.2, etc.

  5. The appropriate answer to your question can only be supplied if one knows where you live (city, state and country).  Some countries outside the US seem to have free satellite services (based on what I read here).  But in general free television is broadcast over the air in the form of VHF or UHF channels.  In the US some satellite receivers have built in VHF and UHF tuners -- the better models of which are made for HDTV reception and have digital tuners.  All these models need is an indoor or outdoor antenna suitable for the viewer's location to pick up the local broadcast signals.  Antennas for US locations can be determined from this web site run by the National Association of Broadcasters and the Consumer Electronics Association:
