  1. Some people are recommending not doing them at all.  I haven't seen conclusive proof that doing them causes or does not cause harm to the skeletal structure of the wrist and hand.

  2. It is fine to do knuckle pushups cause while doing them it kills the nerves around your knuckles than once u killl them it's like walking around 24/7 with a brass knuckle in your hand. It also doesnt damage your wrist what it does is lock the wrist so that when you punch as hard as you can your wrist can sustain the pressure and not break

  3. It depends on what your doing it for. If you want to build callus on your knuckles for punching then it will work very well. Be sure to do finger push ups, and wrist push ups (front and back), and regular palm push ups also.

  4. It would depend if its rough street concrete, or indoor smoothed, polished and painted concrete, and if you built up your knuckles to take that kind of punishment over time I guess.

  5. i would imagine that regular hand pushups would put more stress on your wrists than knuckle pushups.  knuckle push ups to me are doing them with a clenched fist.  if i am wrong then i apologize.  but if you think about it....a clenched fist would cause the stress and pressure of pushing off the concrete to start at a bone and travel through to your elbow and into your shoulder...etc.  but it starts at a bone.  if you can do this correctly the pressure would travel straight through the wrist without affecting it directly.  hand push ups start at the joint.  joint vs. bone?  all the pressure to lift your body up would begin at a bent joint and then travel through.  it helps of course that your open hands absorb some of the pressure but again it only takes of SOME not all.  ALSO, bones can be conditioned to be denser and harder.  they may not look pretty but they can be built stronger.  i figure it would be more of a personal pain preference given the texture and roughness of concrete.
