Oh how I wish I could drag some skeletons out of some cupboards, as I did with a friend of mine today. Boy did I enjoy putting her in her place.

My friend is a 51 year old nurse, at Selly Oak hospital in Birmingham, and a good upstanding pillar of the community. She has a real loathing of the McCanns, and reckons they deserve locking up for leaving their kids alone. I had the PLEASURE of  reminding her of her own life 30 years ago, when she was a single mother, and a bit of a slapper with a little boy, of 2 yrs. One night, I received a call from her, asking me if I would pop in, and check on her child, as she was out with yet another boyfriend. Nothing wrong with that, (you might think) except I lived 3 ROADS AWAY!!!!!. I asked her where she was, and she told me that she was in a pub 6 miles away, but she had put the child to bed, and left him asleep. He had already been left alone for over an hour, before she bothered to phone me.

I went around to her house, bundled the child into my car, and brought him to my house. SHE came home drunk at 3-00am, with a man on both arms, and didn't even ask how the little boy was.

Isn't it strange how people conveniently forget their own past, and mistakes, just as my friend had???

I totally believe the McCanns made a huge mistake in leaving their kids, but are paying the worst price any parents could possibly make, but I wish people would give them a break, as they are desperately trying to make ammends, and haven't given up thinking their daughter is alive, and haven't stopped looking for her.

I hope my friend is reading this, and feels a bit of a hypocrite. SHE might have forgotten what a bloody dreadful mother she was, but I haven't. As the Bible say's "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

I agree. Its now been 10 months and neither the British or Portuguese police have charged them with a single crime. British social have interviewed them and seem satisfied that there is no case for neglect.Can all these people be wrong but Dave s 17ldr and co be right ? The police of both countries have all the facts as do our social services. What Dave s and 17pdr have are rumours, theories and some gutter press reports and yet they never give up ranting and raving the the McCanns did this or said that.
