Absolutely not. I enjoy fishing and my female cousins love fishing. If someone thinks it's weird, that's their problem.

It certainly does not make you odd...lol.  If anything, it may make you seem more interesting to people.

I have been fishing since I was a little girl.  Now, my hubby and I take our kids fishing quite often, most times even camping at the same time.  We have a 10 yr. old daughter, and a 13 yr. old son...they have been fishing since they were each about 2 yrs. old, and they just LOVE it!

Fishing can be a great hobby...it's very addicting...lol

I would MUCH rather see a 15 yr. old girl fishing, than doing most other things that could get her into trouble...lol.

If you really enjoy fishing, keep doing it girl!  Enjoy yourself, and just don't worry about looking odd or not!

If you pick up a copy of BASS magazine at the bookstore/ supermarket, etc., you'll see articles about the pro fishing circuit and the folks who make a living catching fish. They have sponsors and their boats and outfits are decal-ed up like NASCAR drivers. They have a WOMEN'S division where the ladies are tricked out with the same outfits. Also, watch Versus Channel on Saturday AM when they run all the fishing shows and you'll likely see women as guides and running fishing boats. This is one sport where women are truly equal to men. If anybody gives you any smart mouth about it, they're just showing their ignorance (and maybe they'e just a little afraid you'll catch more than they will). In closing, I take my 12 year old granddaughter fishing about every other weekend, and at the lake I mostly frequent, about one out of three fishers are women.

Are you kidding??? You have the right to choose your hobby. Nobody should make fun of you for what you like. Fishing is an open hobby for everyone.

I know a lot of women/girls that fish, and have so much fun doing it also.

Its a fun hobby that you can get into and get addicted to, and nobody can tell you otherwise.

Not at all! I think if you really love something then you should do it! It may be more unusual for girls to take up the sport but that doesn't make it odd - in fact it makes you cool for doing something a bit different from the rest! Go for it :)

no. It's not really something that most girls are into, but that doesn't make it odd. If you enjoy it then that's fine. Years ago, not many girls were into football, but in recent years more and more girls are into it. Can't really see that happening with fishing, but you get my drift.

Not odd at all, honey... take it from me... well... I'm odd for other reasons, but not for fishing. I have one bit of advice, though... if you run across a guy who supposedly likes you but doesn't want to go fishing with you for whatever reason -- RUN!!! My ex claimed that he thought it was cool that I liked to go fishing, but he never took me and would get mad if I went by myself...

Things are different now... much better.

Not at all,I've been doing it for years.Fishing is one of the few sports whereby everyone and anyone can become involved, no matter of your age, race, gender or ability, anyone can fish!
