am just curious and i want to know if a girl that is 17 and gets pregnant by her boyfriend that is 20 is it legal for her mother to get him arrested this is in New York ooh and can she get him arrested for just having s*x with her???

New York State law says:

130.25 Rape in the third degree:

A person is guilty of rape in the third degree when:

1- He or she engages in sexual intercourse with another person who is incapable of consent by reason of some factor other than being less than 17 years old.

2- Being twenty-one years old or more, he or she engages in sexual intercourse with another person less than seventeen years old.

So, to sum it up, if you're 20 and she's 17 that's legal.  Seriously though, why can't you get someone your age?

Just because someone has passed the age of consent does not mean that they are legal to have s*x with. Here's a real life example: the age of consent in my state is sixteen. When one of my good friends was seventeen, she got pregnant by her eighteen year old boyfriend, and her mom called the cops. The boyfriend was taken into custody, and my friend was made (by her parents, not the cops) to have an abortion. So yeah, if one or more parties aren't eighteen, it's not legal.

Well, it depends on the age of consent. In a sense, yes, he can be in big trouble! He can be labeled as a sexual predator for the rest of his life. He'll have to be registered over and over, stay so far away from parks and schools, and go on an expansive list of hard core predators and rapists, even if he slept with you.

But it all depends on the age of consent. I can do a little research and get back to you on that.

Okay so, I did the research. If you were 16 when you got pregnant, it is illegal. Age of consent for females in NY is 17, and if you weren't 17 when you conceived, he will get in BIG trouble.

example if you'd be sixteen and he's seventeen and you'd have a relationship he'd turn eighteen and you couldn't have s*x for over a year sounds weird to me :O
