  1. Yep, it's fine.  Not that much different from having several servings of fish weekly.  If you are taking it for focus, I would also recommend taking an herb called ginko biloba, but only if you don't have any conditions or take meds that would thin your blood.  Like the previous poster said, watch levels of vitamin A or meds that have synthetic forms, such as Retin A or Accutane.  Try to take a multi vitamin that only contains beta carotein rather than vit A.

  2. It is just the dose recommended by the American Heart Association (AHA) which is very conservative. If you are overweight, have high blood pressure or elevated triglycerides you should start at 6.000 mg per day and check your blood in a month.

You don’t have to check for Iron or Vitamin A since fish oil has none of those. Maybe if you are taking cod liver oil it could be a good idea to check your vitamin A but it is very rare that you could be ingesting that much.

It doesn’t really matter if you take your capsules at one sitting or divided, what counts is the total amount.

  3. probably not dangerous, but 1000 mg. ought to be more than enough. Be careful with Iron, and vitamin A.
