Is it ok for an agnostic to wear a cross?

me and my friends were talking and suddenly this came up. Would it be bad if an agnostic wore a cross? We wanted to ask on here so that we can get different opinions. Me and 1 of these 4 friends are agnostic so we don't wear one, but we do like necklaces our friends wear, wishing to wear one but do not want to offend anybody if we wear em.

People will assume you are Christian so if you dont mind that assumption why would it matter to me if you wear a cross or not.

but I am mormon and we dont use crosses at all so maybe I am not the best person to ask, lol

It's best that you don't wear one because you would be professing to be a Christian by wearing one.

Unfortunately people who wear crosses these days do it because its HIP or gothic or whatever, its sad that people wear crosses around their neck but do they have christ in their heart? I doubt it. The answer is NO for me, Its wrong, if you don't believe what the cross stands for why advertise it?

I am atheist and i wear a cross because it was given to me by someone I love very much. To me it is a reminder of that person and so far no one has been offended by it.

Its a piece of jewelry. You can wear it regardless of whether or not you believe.

Hon, I see guys on the street practically everyday who are wearing crosses that I'd bet all my money on as not being Christian.

Crosses seem to be a fashion statement- of what sort I can't figure out.

May it bring judgment to such thugs.

Okay why would a non-Christian want to wear a cross anyway?

I'm the author of a book about my atheism, and I wouldn't personally wear a cross because I don't want to give people the impression I'm a Christian, but that's the only reason. As for whether it's okay or not for an atheist or agnostic to wear a cross--sure, why not. You can wear whatever you want. Just recognize that if you do people will think you're a Christian.
