I do that to keep out the mosquitos. That west nile virus came up to my area.

A tissue would be okay, but it's gonna get REAL icky REAL fast.

An interim seal can be made with wide sticky tape and aluminum foil.

Then, the next time you're out & about, stop into any hardware store or big box home improvement store and find the "Frost King" weatherstripping aisle.

You'll find soft foam weatherstripping meant to seal off window air conditioners by filling in all the gaps, very inexpensive, too... like $2 for a 42" x 2" piece.

Frsot King even has replacement extension sides (~$11) if yours are gnarly or broken.
