Question:

Is it ok for my cockatiel to eat trix?

He accidentally got a nibble of one but everytime i have some he flutters towards them hoping for a bite...

  1. i have 3-birds every once in a while i give them treats,a little trix won't hurt them..


  2. NO!  Silly cockatiel - - Trix are for kids!!

  3. I wouldn't feed it to him on a steady basis because of the sugar but if he accidentally got a little nibble, he'll be fine.  Maybe you can keep some whole grain toast available for him while you're eating cereal.  That's must better for him :-)

  4. Not much.

    The experts say white sugar products are bad for Cockatiels.

    It can also make them super-hyper.

    Grain cereals with less sugar would be healthier;

    like Cheerios or any not-frosted oat cereal.

    Our birds love Millet seed on the branches for a treat.

    Other treat suggestions:

    Watermelon rind immediately after you finish your watermelon.

    Eggs - boiled, plain scrambled, or plain fried and then cooled off.

    Non-salted square Crackers.

    Also, many pet shops sell Cockatiel treats.
