Shes 16 months and loves her milk. Shes got health problems with her kidneys, bladder and bowel, so shes on a specialist milk. Its really helped her gain weight and catch up. Im aware of peoples stares, and nasty women at mother and baby groups have said things, but i dont care about what they think, im just concerned that it might be bad for her? I guess she could move onto a cup now... Dont think that i believe in lax parenting - eg she never had a dummy, comforter and was sleeping through at 2 months. I dont know how this happened, i guess i was just afraid of changing things in case she started to lose weight!

  1. As long as she is healthy who cares what others think. If shes maintaining her weight and eating right that is great. You are happy, she is happy that is all that matters.

  2. 4 bottles a day is a little much for a 16 month old.  Try switching to a sippy cup with a soft spout and see how she does.  The bottle gets harder and harder to take away as they get older so I would start now.  However, what matters the most is that she is healthy.  Do keep in mind that bottles can cause problems with teeth, watch for tooth decay.

  3. I AM NOT GOING TO CRITICIZE YOU AT ALL , MY SON HAD BABY BOTTLE TOOTH DECAY BC HE HAD THE BOTTLE 4 2 LONG  UR THE MOM AND U KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR UR CHILD

  4. My daughter is about as old a suri cruise. She's always seen in mags carrying the same kind of bottles that we use. And when she gets off the bottle, she'll probably carry aroung the some kind of water with a No spill easy open top. That looks very much like a bottle, Which many adults ofen reach for themselves. So whats the rush to take babies bottles away from them?  Don't worry about what other people tell you its time for your baby to do. The only one you need to listen to is-your baby.

  5. its your daughter just make sure you are taking care of her teeth so they don't decay from the milk also you might want to try a nubbie sippy cup my baby went from the bottle to those right away, but as long as she is eating that's the important thing, and if she is sick the sucking notion of the bottle might soothe her so maybe your doing the right thing most likely she'll help let you know when she is ready!!!!!!!!!!! good luck

  6. a bottle at this age is a little much. I would worry about her teeth. Move her up to the sippy cup and tell her haow big she is and remind her that big girls don't need a bottle and you will be suprised at how fast she addapts and may even like it better! Never the less you are the parent so you are only opinion that really matters! Good luck!

  7. I don;t think it's bad at all.  My son is nearly 18 months old and still has 4 bottles in the day.  Just go with your heart.  I ignore the looks from the toddler groups.  My son also drinks from a cup, sleeps through the night and attends nursery whilst I am at work.

    Good luck

  8. Personally, I don't think it's all that bad.  My daughter is also 16 months and I still give her bottles at bedtime and some naptimes.
