  1. Just don't let them be housed together when she delivers. Some rabbits (even females) eat babies.

  2. My mom has lived on a farm for years and I can tell you first hand... I would not advise it! The closer she gets to her due date (just like a woman) she will be more and more uncomfortable with what is going on. She will may become very protective when she starts to build her nest, and will require a nesting box. She will pull hair from her tummy shortly after she becomes pregnant (it only takes 30 days). By day ten you should place a box in her cage to let her get it ready. You don't need to do anything to it except add a little hay or grass, she will do the rest. Don't put your hands into it until you have petted her (to get her scent on you) otherwise she may tear it up and start again. When the babies are born... It is VERY hard not to reach in a pick them out. They are SOOOOOOOO cute! But, the best way to view them is to give her a little food (to preocupy her) pet her (to get her scent) and then brush the fur aside and have a quick peak - don't take them out (fully) until at least a week. The box can stay in for quite a while, they will hop and jump on it, behind it etc. when they get a little older. Just take it out when it gets crowded or dirty. Keep it for next time. be sure to wash it w/ bleach and water. Please feel free to ask me any questions if you need more help...

  3. yes it is ok, but put them in separate cages when she giving birth and when she has her babies, for a long time. The mother can get very protective over her babies and can kill the other rabbit if it gets close, but for now it is ok.

The other rabbit would kill the babies, because they are not hers.

When she has her babies, you need to gain your rabbit's trust, so you can hold her babies.

Hope that Helps and Good Luck and God Bless

  4. It's ok until the baby rabbits are born then you will have to separate the two female rabbits for the safety of the babies. If you do not separate them the babies may get eaten or the mother and the other female might fight for protection or because of jealousy.

HOPE THE BABIES HAVE HAPPY LIVES!

  5. Yes & no really,as some Does can turn on young where others can welcome young! In my personal expierence i would take out the other Doe as when i have left a extra doe in with the mum to be the Mother has abandoned her young, resulting in me hand rearing them which is pretty hard! Its not like the "extra" Doe will kill them its more to do with the mother bunny losing concentration,in which normally ends up with abandoned kits. Also the mother might turn nasty on her bunny friend which could lead to a fight. So yeah, take out the un-pregnant doe,to insure no loss of young.

    Hope this helps. x*x
