  1. just make sure that the bottles are BPA free it can get released when heating in the microwave. If the bottle is hard plastic it must likely has it in it! read up on bpa if that is in you bottles for your baby's health

  2. my son is 6 months old and never has he been burnt by me heating up a bottle in the microwave, and instead of writing it on the bottle get a piece of maskin tape and put it on there and write whatever you have to.. im assumin its ur babys name.. but thats what they done at my sons daycare for his name on his bottle, and it didnt come off when washed.. good luck

  3. It's advised not to warm the bottle in the microwave because of "hot spots" - uneven warming. Some of the milk could still be cold and some could be too hot.

As long as you're writing on the outside of the bottle, it shouldn't be a problem.

  4. Do not use permanent marker or even the masking tape (masking tape glue is even harder to clean).  We tried both and ended up throwing the bottles out since couldn't get rid of the mark or glue.

Best is just to label the caps rather than the bottle itself, and clean these separately.  or use those disposable packets to store milk (write the date) and transfer milk to bottle once you are ready to feed.

  5. thumbs down for me but I say go ahead and warm it in the microwave... just makes sure you shake it really well and test it first (as long as we are talking about formula... breastmilk should never be heated in the microwave.

As for the permanent marker... I'm sure that is it is on the outside it will be fine.

  6. I'm not sure about the permanent marker but I know that warming them in the microwave can cause problems because the liquid can then get hot pockets that can burn the baby badly.  It would be safer to heat the bottle in hot water.

    Best of luck

  7. No, I would think it would be safe.  But you should not warm up the bottle in the microwave.  Use a cup of hot water.

  8. IT DOESN'T AFFECT ANYTHING..MY SON IS IN DAYCARE AND WE HAVE TO PUT HIS NAME ON EVERYTHING..ALTHOUGH I HAVE HEARD FROM THE DAYCARE TEACHERS THAT SOME PARENTS HAVE A FIT WHEN THEY WRITE THE CHILDS NAME ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE PLASTIC WRAPPER ON A SNACK.. SOME PARENTS NEED TO CHILL..THERE ARE MORE HARMFUL POLUTANTS IN THE AIR THAT WE BREATH

  9. Do not warm the milk in the microwave- it can change the compostion of the milk, and cause hot spots and that will burn the babies mouth.  I have read everywhere to not warm a bottle in the microwave.  I warm a glass of water and dunk the bottle in it until it is warm enough.

As far as the marker, I used a wax pencil on mine and it wipes off with a rag or paper towel and everything was fine...
