  1. i heard not to wear them as bacteria in the water can cause problems if you wear contacts.

  2. yes

  3. Actually contact lenses are very porous and will soak up anything because they must retain moisture for your eyes.  Most are composed of silicone, so, when your cl's soak up the chlorine and/or everything else in the water (germs, etc.) it will be retained in the contacts.  So, every time you put your contacts back in your eyes you are covering them with infiltrated chlorine which in turn will cause your eyes to be red and burning, just as if you were swimming with your eyes open.  Now, if you wear goggles or close your eyes underwater I don't think you will have a problem.

  4. Actually, if you swim with your contact lenses, you have a risk of losing them in the water, because the water separates the lenses from the surface of your eye. you should wear goggles if you want to swim with contact lenses.

  5. yes

just make sure you don't get too much chlorine in your eyes or else it BURNSS

  6. I would have to say "no" because the chlorine could get in your eyes and actually burn small holes.  This happened to someone I know who swam in chlorine w/ her contacts and then went to bed in them.  I supposed if it's in natural water it wouldn't hurt but why risk it?
