Is it ok if i leave my modem ploged in at all times , they said leave in for ten days for good connection.

As long as you have a good firewall sure. 10 days or 100 has nothing to do with a good connection.

There is no reason not to leave your modem pulled in. It will not hurt a thing.

The problem is that it takes just 6 minutes for an unprotected machine to be discovered and infected these days

For proper security in this day of automated port scans and infections you need the following setup

Internet >> Modem >> router >> Computer

This applies even if you have just one machine. The router acts as your first line of defense against port scanners and hackers

Then on your computer you need:

Anti-virus software

A software Firewall

A malware detection program

It's a pain, but these days you need a layered defense. Otherwise, the hackers will own your machine and your data
