  1. I met this lady who had hair so shiny, you could almost see yourself in it and I asked her what her secret was.... It turned out that she was a hair dresser and one of the things that she does is she leaves some conditioner in her hair. Everytime she shampoos, she conditions her hair but most people rinse it all out, until their hair literally feels squeeky when you run your hand down it. She said to rinse some of it out but then leave it in. You should be able to still feel the conditioner in your hair. I've been doing this too and found that it really works well. It makes your hair really shiny.

I've never heard of leaving all the hair conditioner in but it sounds like it does a nice job too. I doubt it would be damaging to your hair. If you've done it before and had positive results, than chances are, it doesn't hurt your hair but you might want to just try the other way because then you could just do this every time and you wouldn't have to sleep with your hair full of conditioner.

What I would suggest though is looking on the side of the bottle of the hair conditioner that you are using and there almost always is a "1-800" number that you can call to ask questions about their product. They should be able to tell you if it's damaging or not.

  2. I've been doing this for over 10 years!

My hair has always been soft and shiny because I do this! It's certainly not harmed it in all that time.

Hint: don't do this with protein treatments though ... they dry 'hard' in the hair.

  3. There is no way a conditioner will ever damage your hair. It is actually really good for your hair to do "conditioning treatments" at least occasionally. I wouldn't leave some of it in, like the above girl mentioned doing. As it can get itchy and make your hair look greasy.

  4. No, it should not damage it at all. Just be careful of breakage while it is wet.

  5. Yes it is ok. It won't damage your hair. In fact, it will improve its condition, at least for a while.

  6. It is depend upon the from what substence the conditioner is made.

Some chemically maid conditioners can demage your hair.
