Is it ok if i proposed to my girlfriend at graduation?

My fiance didn't propose to me on my graduation day, but on the day I was officially finished university.  I moved out of residence after my last exams (and in with my fiance) on April 25th, and that evening he made me a dinner to celebrate both our living together and me finishing my Bachelors degree.  After dinner he proposed to me in our kitchen!

It was perfect timing (ensuring I was finished school before starting wedding planning).  My graduation wasn't technically until 2 months later (in June) so I'm glad he didn't wait because I got to go back to see my friends and show off my ring!

But I think the idea of the graduation proposal is really sweet; as long as you think she would appreciate it too.  (She might want to celebrate her accomplishment separate from your relationship that day).

In my own opinion i would not do it. I had 2 friends who did this. This was about 2 and a half years ago..... she had no idea it was coming neither did either sets of parents....they were none to impressed but for the sake of their kids they kept their mouths shut and didn't make a scene. If i were you i would at least wait until you guys are out of school for a few months. not too sure how long you've been together...even of you two have dated all through high school people change after graduation that's the sad fact of life. you will realize down the road when the people who you thought were your friends in school aren't say in 5 years or so ....this isnt always the case but it does happen. getting back to the engagement though....... these two are not together anymore.......both of them changed so much after highschool ......added to the fact that their parents were giving them such a hard time for being so young. my suggestion is to enjoy the next few years with your girlfriend and propose to her when she least expects it!!!

P.S: A nice grad gift would be a promise ring....no engagement but a promise of the good things to come :)

I kind of hope my boyfriend chooses my graduation from college as the day to propose to me since we're waiting until I am done...

It would make the day even more special. :)

High school graduation - no. College graduation - eh, maybe. If it was a 2 year degree - no, if it was a 4 year degree - maybe. Even after graduating from a 4 year college, she is still young. Maybe after some life experience and in a stable career job, is the time to propose.

Yes, as long as she'll enjoy that.  I'm a private person and I would not like that at all!!!  I would like the idea of being proposed to on the same day as my graduation, but in a different way.  How about planning a special surprise after her graduation?  That way, she still has the excitement of the day, but a private proposal.
