  1. No they still work, ive still got some mepps spinners from 1975 and they are fine even the trebles have not rusted, your lures should be fine, replace the hooks if they are starting to go blunt, you can test this by rubbing the hook point on your thumb nail, if it doesn't scratch it with ease you need a nee hook you can clean your lures with WD-40 if needed.

  2. It won't matter much. Some of my lures are so old and "chewed up" you can't tell what it used to look like! The action on them is still great and they surprisingly still catch fish.

  3. I doubt it's going to matter much-the fish are looking more for motion and shape than  detail-light does some odd things underwater anyway...

  4. it's ok - if you feel the need you could dab a little bit of paint on it but you'd have to be very careful not to put too much on to make the lure out of balance.

Sometimes it does help to change the blade or put a different skirt on a spinner.

  5. If they get too scratched up you could try to replace parts of the lure or repaint it being very careful not to put too much paint on the blade so it will still spin properly to give the lure it's balanced at the factory...

Generally the fish do go after the motion of the lure or the flash of the blade on a spinner.

  6. nope my favorite lure has been bitten by so many bass and northern its all scratched up buy still works great
