My husband still kisses his mom on the lips every time they greet and every time they say good bye, and we live in the same town and see them at least once a week. Also, he still calls them when we go on trips to let them know we are leaving or we've made it there ok and talks to them via blackberry along the way. At first it was ok, but now I am 6 months pregos and think it is a little odd for him to still have these behaviors when he is starting his own family. What do you think?

  1. Kissing Mommy on the lips is weird.  My 29 year old son will barely give me a hug when we see each other about once a month for a few minutes.  We both work full time jobs and have other interests.

Your husband will eventually cut the apron strings when the child gets here, just hang on.  You would rather him be that way than texting and calling other women wouldn't you?  Or going to the bars at night , or going out fishing and hunting with the "boys".

You have it made, stop trying to find things to get on to him about, this is nothing really.  You are grasping for things to gripe about I think.

  2. i think its okay. its showing hes a sensitive sweet man, and your lucky to have him! as long as he still cares about you and in the 3..or so monthes cares a lot about the baby, i think thats okay. im sure you'll still want your kids to be kissing tou on the lips when they have kids, and is starting to get married!

    *btw- congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<33

  3. I guess it's okay for them if that is how he grew up within his family although I think it is abnormal myself.

  4. yuck! that always grosses me out, too! I think it might be a cultural thing with some people, though. My family doesn't do it, but my hubbies does.

the trip/blackberry thing is too much...you are correct on that. he doesn't need to check in with mommy all the time. you might want to have a serious (calm) conversation with him about this sort of thing. I would also recommend getting involved with a church that really promotes the family unit....not extended family unit. There should be boundaries, and your thoughts are valid.

  5. I didnt think that is weird at all. this means he has a very close family, and honestly its very sweet. it shows that he has great respect for his mom and allot of love within his family. You are now part of this family, and i assume that he expects you to act this way with his children as well.  it has nothing to do with maturity if that is what you are thinking, it seems like he is just very close with his family and i think that really kicks butt. Just because this is not the way most families act does not mean that their is something wrong with it, its honestly very cool. And no matter what age your child is, you always will worry about them when they are away from their home on vacation. so honestly it shows his great respect for his mom, and i am sure that he shows you the same kind of courtesy. so what is wrong with that

  6. I am 20 and I still kiss my mom on the lips I know I am a girl but my family is close we kiss and hug everytime we see each other, I say leave him alone, why can't he be close with his mother.

  7. i do not see anything wrong with it.if it was a prolonged kiss or to ''wet" then i guess but i still kiss my mom on the lips..it is his mom i think you are over reacting.i understand calling to say you made ot okay but the rest is a bit much..

  8. Yes, my family is very close and we all still do it

  9. It is weird.  But you knew about it before.  Also is something instinctively telling you that something is wrong?  If so go with your gut.  If you just think that it is weird don't worry about it.

  10. there is nothing wrong with that and if you have a problem with it to bad his mom was first

  11. i think its weird
