Ok. Im 13 and I play the oboe. I want to think about a college scholarship for the oboe. I am really good for a 13 year old. Or so says all of my band teachers. Is it too early to be thinking about a scholarship? Or should I be looking into it already???? Please help me. I dont know what to do.

  1. Look for all the scholarships you can get! There are quite a few contests ONLY for younger people that are saved until you get to college. If you're good, go for it! Good luck!

  2. College is so expensive these days --it is never too early to be considering scholarships.

However, at 13, there isn't much you can do at the moment. Definitely research your options and keep on practicing the oboe. But I wouldn't start filling out any scholarship application forms until maybe the summer after your sophomore or junior year.

  3. It is not too early but do not let it dominate your life and be flexible in changing your plans as necessary./

  4. Hello how are you? There is no age limit as to where you can begin applying for scholarships. What I suggest that you do is use a scholarship search. A scholarship search allows you to create a profile and receive information for all the scholarships that you are eligible to apply for based on your profile description. Scholarshipsupport.com actually has 2 free scholarship searches available right now. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
