My 6 month old baby has a few scratches on his face ( he scratched himself ). My husband wants to apply anti-biotic ointmetn for adults on his face. Is that ok ? I feel we shdnt .. but he says it is ok. It is after hours ... we have called the nurse on call and are waiting for her to call back. But I just wanted to know if any of you have heard that it is ok or if any of you have applied grown-up antibiotic cream/ointment on a 6 month ( or less than a year old ) baby's face.

  1. i dont see why it would hurt but i would probably just go for vaseline or eucerin cream/aquaphor cream.....i seriously doubt that the babys face is going to get infected from the scratches

  2. I personally do not seem the harm in it. At the daycare I used to work at (with the parents permission if needed) we applied it anywhere. But my daughter has these folds on her neck that sometimes get red & raw and the pediatrician said to apply aquaphor.
