  1. You really need to think about why you applied for this job in the first place ..... the bank gave you a lot of consideration in allowing you the times and days they have agreed - they depended on you to be accurate in telling them about your needs.... to go back now and say 'I'm sorry but I got it wrong - I need another day...' does not look good for you - especially as you've just started ..... what it tells them is your not reliable, not committed and can't even get your facts right .... you will cast serious doubt in their minds about keeping you as an employee ......

I suggest you slug it out for three months - that will show willing on your part - and if this is the same situation then, then you can ask to modify your times ..... if you ask now you will more than likely find yourself out of a job - full stop.

  2. not if you need the job - if one of my employees did that i would be thinking of replacing the employee!!

  3. yes

  4. Whos the boss you or them

  5. It is ok. It's hard to get another focus when we still study at school/college. You need many extra energy to divide yourself on job and school. Finish your school first. :)

  6. Yes.

If they don't agree, fire them.

  7. If you need to say it then do it,

if you are a college student you could say that your college recommends you to work 20 hours maximum as a full time student. Which is true of most colleges.

tell them that you will be happy to work more hours during school breaks.

Employers also prefer to keep a trained employee than having to train another one.

remember that when you work and study your social life will have to be sacrificed.

  8. No, you knew how many hours they needed you when you started.  You should have known then if you could handle your school and work.  Thats quite unprofessional.

  9. Uh, no.  Once you agree to your work hours, it won't look good at all to try and weasel another day off.  I'd buck up and take it...it will get easier with time.

  10. You should have negotiated this at the interview, so it's not so okay unless it's easy to find a temporary stand-in for you when you are off. First try to find another colleague who will stand in for you then ask your boss.
