Is it ok to be a Yankees fan?

I'm a New Yorker and I like them Jeter is a classy guy. But i go to this place where Red Sox fans are (upstate NY) lots of Sox fan and they brag every year and I say 26 I need more comebacks!

If you're from New York then being a Yankees fan is perfectly ok.

Root for whoever you want to. Imagine: if the Yankees won, you'd pretty much have bragging rights over everyone in your vicinity. That's worth something in itself. Besides, it's always good to stand behind a team, whatever their score.

Sure it's ok to be a Yankee fan. And I advise that instead of arguing with them, talk baseball with them. I have some of the best baseball conversations with Yankee fans because a lot of them are devoted enough to know their stuff.  I've realized that arguing with them about the rivalry is a waste of time compared to having a conversation about the teams, players, trades, etc.

No. Every yankee fan should have a bat thrust in his heart and a baseball stuck in his mouth and put on the table for a Yankee hater's Luau. Seriously why would it be wrong to be a Yankee fan? If it feels good do it. Some of my best friends are Yankees fans. They are a baseball team. Not the Communist Party. Any player on that team could end up playing for any of the other 29 teams.

Why wouldn't it be OK to be a Yankees fan? I've been a fan for close to 30 years and there isn't a d**n thing that's gonna prevent me from rooting for them.

Every team is gonna have some bragging sessions and trash talk. I've been hit with trash talk from Sox fans I know. And I can hit 'em back with more than just "26 rings" talk. (That's actually the last card I pull. It's too easy and I think even as a Yankees fan that it's cheap.) You can find other ways to get at 'em.

Anyone who seriously says that it's not OK to be a Yankees fan has far too much on their minds. Or they're idiots.
