it is "ok" to be selfish if you are looking out for what you need in a relationship.  You shouldn't have to lose so much of yourself that you aren't happy.  But that only applies when you are young and fooling around.   When you are married with children you have to be selfless, and hopefully your family will do the same.

Nah I doubt that it's ok. Being selfish just keeps you wanting more and more and pretty soon your mate doesn't have enough to give and ends it.
