Is it ok to break the Labor Day rule?

You know, anything white below the waist? I bought tons of white shoes and belts and Nordstrom and now I'm scared to wear it because of the scorn I will receive from the fashion police.

Wait, I've never even heard of this rule... so I guess that makes it okay, seeing as no one has ever even insulting me for wearing my white shoes.

People don't seem to pay attention to that 'rule' anymore. Some know about it and most just don't care, as long as what you choose to wear is in style and looks good on you! (and you feel good in it too, of course!)

I think that rule is silly, personally.  If you want to wear it, wear it.  If people want to ba all AHAHAHA WHITE AFTER LABOUR DAY WHAT A TARD then let them, they're just being stupid.

s***w it! be a rebel..just do it..lol...i really don't think they'll notice..if a fashion police stops you, tell them there was bleach rain falling from the sky and you just couldn't avoid it=(....lol..no wait, you said shoes right? well tell them you stepped into a bleach puddle...after the overnight bleach rain...haha

No worries, that rule went away and you can now wear white whenever you want.

That rule went by the wayside a long time ago, I believe.  I have seen it in Vogue, Cosmo, all of the fashion mags.  The reason, of course, was that white was considered a 'summer' color.  It's not any more.  All of the pastels used to be as well, that fell away a LONG time ago.  It was only a matter of time before white followed suit.

I just bought some white (not winter white or eggshell but WHITE) dress pants just today! :)

Wear and be happy!!  Turns out the ones that give you the stink eye are/will actually be the ones that are "out of fashion" know how!!

I really think that it's ok...I mean I don't think its a problem unless you over do it but maybe you could wait a couple days after labor day and then start wearing it again but for the most part I think you should be absolutely fine ....and the only person who would actually care would be people over the age 72 so unless your going to a retitrement home..go 4 it!!!
