yes actually i just came back from Iran.  

lots of tourists from non-islamic countries visit there and i'm  not saying robbers and sick people don't exist there, but it's no different than USA. it's actually better because you don't see crack heads on the streets all the time. i've never seen anyone who was high back there. but your mother will have to cover her hair. not completely, but just a pretty wide scarf on her head. i actually bought a cashmere one from macys! the width should be about 30 inches.

Actually in there people have more respect for women , so no one will try and harm her ,  especially as she is old , she has to wear a bit of hijab though , not too covered , just a bit , Im sure she is gonna enjoy it , you just have to choose the right place .

Come on, Iran is a safe country especially for tourists.

There is no war in Iran now so there wouldnt be any reason not to be safe.

Iran is very interesting country,because it has many traditional at the same time very modern places for visiting.

But your mother should cover her body and hair,so buy a scarf for her!
