  1. its not good,

but if you brush him more than

    THREE times a day,

his hair might start to fizzle out

  2. yes

  3. yeah. i brush my guinea pig everyday....if you know what i mean and it hasn't fallen off yet

  4. I dont know, I would think so.

  5. Short-haired guinea pigs - brush every few days (at least once a week). If your guinea pig is shedding (losing more hair than usual), brush at least every other day

  6. If his coat is in good condition and he seems happy when you do it, it's not hurting anything. If you're worried you might switch to a softer brush or maybe rub him with a cloth.

  7. If you're goign to brush a guinea pig make sure it isn't one of them hard brush they when you brush your hair, it feels like your getting hit,use a poofy brush (soft one).

Oh and if he has lots of hair brush it thoroughly, but if he has shortish hair then do it softly and not so close to the dermis.

  8. well, yea! i'll tell u, short haired are MUCH easier to brush than a rough haired

  9. yes. i have one i have alot of exp.

  10. Daily brushing will increase it shine and quality. It is advice to do to humans too. Daily at night will increase the blood flow beneath the hair. Will give great strenght as they are charged when brushing them

  11. Nope there is nothing wrong with it

  12. yea but if he starts losing more hair then every other day

  13. yes but i doubt he likes it

  14. I have a hamster but i dont brush it, animals don't need brushing. Guinea pigs in the wild don't get brushed.

  15. Well, you do't actually need to brush them, only long hairs need to be brushed. But most pigs enjoy being brushed. You can brush them as much as you want!

Edit: Whoever says guinea pigs in the wild don't get brushed...there are species of cavys in the wild, but the domestic cavy(Guinea pi) Does not live ih the wild. There ancestor do, but not them. Its like you don't see a calico hampster or a long haired bunny in the wild, so why would you see a red and white guinea pig in the wild?

    Exactly.

  16. Yeah! You can brush your guinea pig once a day!

  17. I doubt he likes it in any case.   I've owned a few guinea pigs and I've never brushed them.

  18. You can brush him daily if he will put up with it - - just depends on his temperment.

  19. hmm, Regular brushing will help keep your guinea pigs coat in good condition and most guinea pigs do not mind being brushed. You will want a fairly stiff (small) brush and a small metal comb. The time you spend brushing and combing your guinea pig is also a good opportunity to check for problems such as lice or sores on the skin. The need for brushing depends on how long your guinea pig's hair is, and whether your guinea pig is shedding:

        * Long-haired guinea pigs - brush and comb out any mats every day. If you are having a hard time coping with the long coat, the hair can be trimmed (simply trim the longer hair so it is not dragging on the ground - you may want to see a groomer for advice).

        * Short-haired guinea pigs - brush every few days (at least once a week). If your guinea pig is shedding (losing more hair than usual), brush at least every other day.
