Is it ok to buy bunnies in a farm?

i bought my bunny in a farm and people say its not good because they dont sell bunnies that have any breeds all the bunnies are crossed with other breeds and there not there on proper breed is that true?

  3. It depends on what you plan on doing with your rabbit. Is it just a pet? If so then what you did is fine. if you want a rabbit to show or join 4H with then no you should have bought one froma reputable breeder.

    Rabbits with good bloodlines come with a pedigree and have parents that are the same breed. Unless the person you bought your rabbit from furnishes you with a pedigree then your rabbit is not considered a purebred.

    Some people will try and tell you that you did a bad thing. If you are happy with your rabbit and you love it and are caring for it then it is no one's business where it came from. Just keep doing what you are doing. Many animal rights folks think there are too many rabbits going into rescues and shelters and I do agree with that. Rabbits should be used for what they were originally intended, they were first domesticated as a food source. No rabbit should go to rescue, it should go on the dinner table.
