Is it ok to do the gm one day the pool the next and the gym the day after?

i joined a gym there today so i have sumthing to do after work im a big swimmer and would do upwards of 40 lenths a session, i was wondering if id be able to do a gym workout like weights and cardio monday and swimming tuesday then weights and cardio wednesday or even cardio monday swimmin tuesday weights wednesday then swimming again thursday or what would be the best way to do it? and id be taking the weekends off to rest

  1. i think that would be good. just make sure you give your muscles a day to rest.


  2. It's fine, as long as you rest on weekends to allow your muscles to develop properly.

    This should be OK but maybe it´s not enough rest. You have to be very careful not to overdo yourself. Overtraining is serious and creeps slowly upon people so they tend not to notice it. Start with the schedule you mentioned but every other or every 2 weeks try training 2-3 days in a row and then rest 1-2 days. Your body doesn´t have the same rhythm as human society.

    Just remember that your training tolerance is dictated to you by your body, not vice versa!
