If you intend to decline an university application and have been in touch with a representant of the school through emails for a while. Now I wonder if it's ok to decline their offer through mail or would that be impolite? Should I send a letter instead?

  1. I think the University will send a form when you get accepted.  And you have to sign the form whether you want to attend the school or not.

  2. Send a letter instead.  It's the more polite thing to do.

  3. Logically when there were no other type of  communication so the only type present should be used for declining as well .

Don't feel any liabilites for the communication you have already conducted and Don't try to be too much polite, its a waste.

  4. send a letter

  5. you should send a letter

or a phone call its more formal
