Would this weaken the rim?

  1. I am mystified why you'd want to do this but on 99% of the rims out there it won't be a problem.

Presta valves (the small ones) are much better suited to high pressure applications and tend to last longer. If you want it to be "easier" to inflate the tire just get a presta to schraeder adapter and keep it screwed onto one of the valves.

  2. It's OK.  Just don't make the hole any bigger than you will need.  It is a very small difference in size.  Do not forget to dull any sharp edges after you drill the new hole.
