Is it ok to dye your hair when it is already highlighted??

my hair is light brown with blonde highlights and i was thinking of dying it chocolate brown, is that ok?

Its just going to change the color of your high lights to a darker blonde.

you can do that, but just remember, the streaked part of your hair will be lighter then the rest of your hair only because its a lighter colour.

Do not use anything with ash in it like that other person told you! do not do it. I am a stylist and have been for 20 years. Ash has a green base and that will turn your highlights a awful green tint color. Go to a salon if you want the end results to look good. If you use a store bought color you will be back on here crying. Stay away from anything ASH!

Hi yep that would be fine I would use a semi permenant hair dye first incase you dont like it as once you put a permemant one on and if you dont like it then you will find it really hard to go back to getting your hair blonde.

yes its fine...but your highlights will still probably show after you die your hair...not the same as now, but they will still have a highlight that blends in with the new color.
