What kind of home made food can a 3 month old kitten eat?Is it ok if they eat fried chicken(the white meat) or steak,or pork chops?

we might not be able to buy cat food for a while so we was thinking about feeding her fried chicken or something.

Can someone please give me a list of homemade food(or human food)that a 3 month old kitten can eat without getting sick?

  1. Dont fry her food, boil or grill it. Frying will make her fat and a upset tummy. Dry food is fine but wet food has more moisture.

Why not try grilling fresh sardeins i buy then for 20p each from the fish mongers at morrisons.

  2. Cooked or raw hamburger meat, cooked or raw liver, chicken if it is cooked and absolutely free of any bones. Fish the same as chicken. Most cats are lactose intolerant and would get sick on cow's milk, so don't give her milk. She'll do just great with water. Cats can also eat most vegetables and fruits (you need to look up the ones they can't eat, like grapes and raisins), but they don't need anything but meat and water, if you don't give it cat food yet.

I give my 3 1/2 month old kitten dry food all the time and canned food every other day or so, but cats don't NEED canned food. There's a danger of not getting enough water when eating only dry food, but as long as it's drinking water it'll be fine on dry only. My mom's cats have never had any canned food, and they've all lived long happy lives.

  3. yes only feed her dry food  and don't use can food

and don't give home made food

and i was a vet so i know allot of this stuff.

  4. As along as the chicken is very small and not to hot you should be able to feed it to her.Just don't give her to much.As for milk I never gave my kittens/cats milk so I don't know.

  5. no you never give pets people food

  6. Canned cat food is better for the cat than dry cat food.  But both are better than giving the cat table scraps.

You need to get the kitten some appropriate cat food.  She can eat some chicken for a day or two, but cats need nutrients that people don't.  Like bones, ground up in the food.  Very, very well ground up.  Don't give the cat any pork or any fried meat.  And onions are actually poisonous to cats!  So really do your research!

I'm trying to understand why you would adopt a cat that you couldn't care for.  If there is nowhere within driving range that sells healthy cat food, then I would recommend making some yourself, link to advice below.

Be sure you are really doing what is right for your cat.

EDIT :: don't do any cow dairy/milk.  Cats can do a little bit of fish, but it can be addictive and dangerous to their health.  Better to stick with chicken, turkey, rabbit.  Again, no onions!

  7. Don't feed her  chocolate theobromine in chocolate can cause theobromine poisoning, for instance, although few cats will eat chocolate.

Milk will give cats bad kraps cats are lactose intolerant if you didnt know that.

  8. A 3 month old kitten needs REAL CAT FOOD that has all the nutrients and vitamins in it that they need to grow and be healthy.

Your kitten can't live on human food, especially nothing as basic as fried chicken.....all that grease no way!  Pork can cause terrible gastrointestinal problems and if you can afford to feed your cat steak then you can afford a bag of kitten chow.

It is quite all right to feed her dry food if you feed her a kitten chow.

If nothing else, Purina Kitten Chow is fine for starters.

A 3 month old kitten simply needs access to a large, fresh dish of water.  Don't feed it milk.  Milk can cause diarrhea.

Again, if you can afford to feed your cat "steak" and all these other human foods then go out and buy an inexpensive bag of Purina Kitten Chow.  If you get your kitten hooked on human food not only are you keeping it from the vitamins it needs to grow up healthy, but your starting a very bad habit in your cat that will be very hard to break when she starts stealing food out of your cabinets or jumping up in the middle of the dinner table and snatching food off your plate.  You'll blame her for the behavior, but you started it.
