Is it ok to get a high 500 or a low 600 score on the chem SAT II test and retake it and do better?

Those scores are not acceptable. Look at the average of the SAT II Chemistry. It's only a 630. Chemistry SAT II is all about memorization. The more effort you put into studying and memorizing those knit picking formulas and trends, the higher your score. An 800 is 8 wrong out of 67, the curve is great, go for the better!
