  1. I totally agree with Horseplay, chicken is ok as a small part of a wholesome diet, but not as the sole or main meal of the day as chicken doesn't include necessary vitamins and minerals such as taurine that a cat needs in it's diet. I always grill or boil skinless and boneless chicken b*****s for kittens, as it's a nicer part of the chicken for them to enjoy.

From what you say, they obviously LOVE their chicken :)

Dyllis is correct that raw chicken can be fed, but just make sure that it is nice and fresh. I buy mine on the day from my local butcher and a thigh can be given, as uncooked bones aren't a cause for concern as cooked ones. Never give cooked thighs with bones in to cats or kittens as bones become more brittle and can break off and get stuck in the gullet.

Here are some links to raw feeding if you are thinking of going down this route. They have lots of advice on how you should introduce your kittens and cats to it and what and how to feed -

    All the best.

  2. I have 14 wk old kittens they eat normally kitten food but like yours go mad when they smell the chicken. They have it once a wk and are fine

  3. Of course you can give them cooked chicken. They will love you even more for it. But its not a substitute for kitten food.

Do yourself a favour though, only give them a treat like that when YOU decide to give it to them, not while they are begging for it, not off your plate while you are eating etc. Wait until an hour or two after they've been going daft looking for some, and THEN give it to them unprompted.

Otherwise you will end up with spoiled kittys who think they deserve whatever you're having ALL the time, and will have no probs hopping onto the kitchen to get "their" chicken when you're not looking.

And awwww, i used to have a cat that used to climb UP my leg and onto my shoulder- you've just reminded me of her. It wasn't so fun when i was wearing light clothes though- or WHITE clothes, the muddy paws were cute but annoying

  4. what kate said-bullseye.

  5. yes you definitely can

we have numerous small animals and young animals and we give them pieces of cooked chicken as the main part of their diet

  6. you don't need to cook them raw is so much better for them, i would wait until your cat is a bit bigger before feeding chicken on the bone, but raw chicken wings for a adult cat is a natural treat after all in the wild they would eat mice and birds so there digestive system is geared towards eating bones and all will be digested

  7. ur kittens r goin 2 turn in2 big chickens

  8. we used to give my cat it and she was fine! :)

people give cats uncooked meats, which i dont think is right but thats ok for them to eat too. id suggest cooking it first like you said :)

if ur still worried about doing so then consult your vet :)

  9. Heya yes cooked chicken is absolutely fine its good for them too.

  10. feed them raw chicken meat, contrary to what some people think, raw is much better than cooked, it has live enzymes that are denatured (killed) when exposed to high heat (cooking). you need not worry about bacteria as being carnivores, cats' digestive systems are entirely acidic unlike ours where only our stomach is acidic, so all bacteria will be killed

  11. I used to feed my cat cooked chicken on my VET's recommendation.  We had to for about a week or so because we thought she might be allergic.  She is back on cat food.  Feeding a kitten/cat chicken won't hurt it.

  12. A 3 month old kitten needs REAL CAT FOOD that has all the nutrients and vitamins in it that they need to grow and be healthy.

Your kitten can't live on human food, especially nothing as basic as fried chicken.....all that grease no way! Pork can cause terrible gastrointestinal problems and if you can afford to feed your cat steak then you can afford a bag of kitten chow.

It is quite all right to feed her dry food if you feed her a kitten chow.

If nothing else, Purina Kitten Chow is fine for starters.

A 3 month old kitten simply needs access to a large, fresh dish of water. Don't feed it milk. Milk can cause diarrhea.

Again, if you can afford to feed your cat "steak" and all these other human foods then go out and buy an inexpensive bag of Purina Kitten Chow. If you get your kitten hooked on human food not only are you keeping it from the vitamins it needs to grow up healthy, but your starting a very bad habit in your cat that will be very hard to break when she starts stealing food out of your cabinets or jumping up in the middle of the dinner table and snatching food off your plate. You'll blame her for the behavior, but you started it.

But, I don't believe chicken with little to no grease in small portions will do any harm (:

  13. Most cat foods have some chicken in them anyway. Yes, it is ok.

  14. Yes - Just be careful with the bones

  15. If it is a treat off of your plate or you are asking because they got into it, there is not usually a problem.  BUT best way is boiled - not any salt, spice, skin, or bones.  Just use care that they do not become spoiled and only want that instead of their regular food which they require for their daily vitamins and minerals.

  16. Hi

yes cooked chicken in small pieces is OK for kittens but don't give chickens cooked kittens just give then chicken feed.
