Yesterday my friend gave me a late birthday present that is a female Betta, since he saw that while deployed i have set up a two gallon tank. In my tank, I have an Orange Glofish. Is it ok for a Betta and Glofish to share a tank, mainly b/c the Glofish seems to be scared to go near the Betta if it is at the top of the tank, even though I haven't seen any agressive behavior from the Betta.

Also, I was curious about another thing. My bedroom tank with the Betta is where I tend to raise my snails till they are big enough to be in the gold fish pond. Will there be any problems having them in a tank together?

  1. My advice would be to purchase a larger tank. At least five or six gallons for the betta and find the glofish another home that is larger yet. I would not recommend a snail. I used to keep mystery snails in with my bettas. However, most of my bettas would attack the snails, taking chunks out of their feelers and also their body. Only one of my bettas was OK with a snail, but the snail created so much waste in his five gallon tank that I eventually gave away the snail. The betta was constantly having health issues due to the waste of the snail, despite the fact that I cleaned the water every other day.
