  1. yes it is,

    but sword-tails do better in groups of at least 3,

    if you get more than that, you would probably need a bit bigger tank


  2. you could have a swordtail and some small tetras. but its usually not a good idea to have them in that small of a tank.

    i had my 3 swordtails in a 10 gallon tank by themselves and they were fine.  i wouldnt get put a swordtail in a tank smaller than 5 gallons.(you shouldnt put anymore than 1 in that small of a tank)

  3. no it's absolutely not ok

    a swordtail needs at least to be in a 15 gallon tank, anyhting smaller is torture

    you can put a betta fish into the 5 gallon tank though

  4. yes,but I suggest something bigger along with some friends.

  5. Sword fish like to be with others just like people get a bigger tank.
