  1. Absolutely!!

I was a groomsgirl for one of my best friends and in the same wedding party the bride had one of her male friends as a bridesmaid. I wore a long black dress and the male bridesmaid was in a suit.

Having a guy as your bridesmaid doesn't mean you have to put him in a dress!

People need to get with the times! It's your wedding, you should be surrounded by your closest friends.

  2. thanks for 2...I don't answer silly questions..

  3. nope, but try best-man

  4. its your wedding

    your day

do whatever you want to do

  5. NOOOO! thats very unfair to him, unless he wants to, but i think you should leave that decision to him. but i think it would be extremely weird.

  6. I wouldnt put him a dress. I would get him a tux like the best man!!

  7. He CANNOT be a bridesmaid, but he can be a male attendant. It is becoming more common for grooms to have female attendants, and brides to have male attendants, but it will never be common or acceptable to call a woman a "groomsmen" or a man a "bridesmaid." I hope this is a joke, because if you are serious about making him wear a dress, your wedding will be a joke for years to come. What kind of friend are you? Female groom attendants don't have to wear tuxes anymore than male bride attendants should have to wear dresses. Maturity and sanity go a long way.

My friend had a "Man of Honor," and he sure as h**l didn't wear a dress, and she didn't expect him to.

  8. hahahaha... that's so funny. No, that would look crazy. Ask your man if he can be a groomsman.

  9. sure.  describe your husband?  is he a comedian also?  joke wedding...no one will take it seriously. but, ok

  10. Bride meaning female not male.  You should consider having him be a groomsmen.

  11. LMAO! u are insane ... what kind of a friend are u to treat him this way? Just have him to be one of the groom's men.

  12. Of course - it's quite common these days.  But the dress idea is either a joke, or crossdressing, and you're confusing the role and the gender thing.

A male 'bridesmaid' just wears a suit, of course, and is called "Bride's Supporter" in the program.  (I did one wedding where he was scottish and wore a kilt, though :-)

Girls can be the "groom's supporter", too.  Some people dress a groom's female supporter in a tux, but that's silly, really - they are simply the best friend, sibling, etc., of the groom or bride, and usually sign the marriage license and do all the other 'best man' jobs as well. That's why you ask them.  They can hold the rings, too.  They walk in with the groom's or bride's party, and stand on their side, and go out with their matching supporter on the other side.

Of course you could have an entire cross dressed theme wedding with the bride in a tux -- but that's something else...

  13. Your "best friend" should be the man you are marrying.

  14. yes it is fine. heck there are even wedding where the girls wear suits and the guys wear dresses.

  15. Umm.. no that's not okay, why would you make the poor guy wear a dress. Let him be a brides maid I guess.. if he wants, but a dress will make him look likea  fool.

  16. thats not okay. what are you thinking?!

  17. Yes- he just wears a tux like the groomsmen.  I was a groomsmen and the bride had a guy be a bridesmaid...and we just walked down together...it was very special and cool.  Wig- depends if he can rock it or not.

  18. No, but he can be a bridesman.

  19. *laugh* its your wedding you can do what you want as long as he accepts the challenge

  20. are u kidding me u want him to wear a dress wow

  21. After about 10 milliseconds of careful consideration, NO!

  22. PSYCHO!!!!! NO! NO! NO! not okay

You can put him in a tux! Watch Maid of Honor

  23. It is ok to make him a bridesmaids or honor attendant, but it is wrong to ask the guy to wear a dress.  Have him wear a nice tux with a vest or cumber bun to match your bridesmaids dresses.

  24. No but he could be ur best man

  25. Don't make him a bridesmaid, make him a brides-attendant or something.  Have him wear something that blends in, but not a dress...unless he's a cross-dresser, that's not cool.

Don't joke about it too much--some brides have male attendants and some grooms have female attendants.  If they're your best friends, why would you want to make a joke out of having them in the wedding party?  I mean, if you want the wedding to be a big joke, go ahead, but I don't think it's all that funny.  Have a little more respect, OK?

  26. This is the modern era.  If you want a male attendant then that is fine.  He wears a tux not a dress.

  27. NO WAY!

  28. Don't ask a guy to wear a dress, don't humiliate, he is a man - give him a tux and let his stand with the brides maids, he would like that honor, he is your friend. Let him be there for your wedding.

  29. Don't be ridiculous.

  30. I'd just have him wear what the other groomsmen are wearing. He can stand on your side even.

  31. haha thats hilarious i love this idea! well as long as he is happy with it..
