Is it ok to have two different security systems?

I have norton but the subscription is out so it will not update but I can still scan, I also have windows defender, is it safe to run both?

Hello Aveset, Like the other person said, you can get an antivirus program for Free (AVG) and it is good. But before you In-stall any other antivirus program make sure that you un-install Nortons first ok, because if not then any other antivirus program that you try to install will not work. Norton is an antivirus program and Window Defender is a Spyware program they are 2 different kind of protection programs. To keep your computer protected you only need 3 things, 1. A Firewall  2. A Antivirus program 3. A Spyware program and all three work together to keep the computer protected.   Good Luck

Yes, Norton is anti0-virus, Defneder is Anti-Spyware/adware. so they are diffrnet sytmes, if your subscription on Norton has finsihed may i suggest getting AVG 8 Free, then your sytme is still upto date wiht latest virus files, so you dont get cuaght out by a new virus.
