  1. No it isnt, it could set of the explosive or make the Firing Cap stick. Keep them in a Secure,Dry,Cool place and you should be fine.

  2. It's not a question of the ammo "baking" off and firing, it's more about how high heat, or extreme cold shorten the lifespan of the ammo. Ammo needs to be stored in a more constant moderate temperature. If done so, it can last well past your lifetime.

    shoot safe

  3. i dont know nothing about no explosions

but it will probably ruin your bullet

    definitely your confidence

  4. Think about it.  Does the Army have giant air conditioned storage trucks to deliver ammo on the battle field?  No.  Your ammo should be fine, for many years, if kept dry.

  5. No always store weapons and their ammunition in a cool, dry place.

  6. They will be fine.

Keep them in thier original packaging if you can. Modern propellants have a higher flashpoint than that of black powder.

I's bet the inside of a storage unit does not get over 140F. You got about 300F to go..before they could ignite.

  7. I think its fine, mythbusters did a show about a guy who stored ammunition in his oven and after mythbusters heated up the oven to over 500 degrees the bullet blew up but it didn't do much damage. A hot storage unit should be fine b/c i doubt thats gonna get up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

  8. They won't blow up or anything but a few months of that might effect their performance.

  9. No, you should keep your bullets in a cool and ventilated place. But please don't keep them in a hot place, they can explode and injure you or others around you.

  10. Here on planet Earth no storage unit is going to get hot enough to effect modern small arms ammunition.

  11. I store mine in the front if a truck in Florida, sometimes on the dash, and sometimes long enough that the print fades from the packaging

It don't get much hotter anywhere than a dash board in Florida and I have never had any failures or explosions

Even if it did cook off there is no way that it will blow up your storage room or a garage, might could start a fire though

  12. Very Dangerous!

  13. Yes and no case whether it is tangibly acceptable or not depend on the ammunition stored and how hot is you are telling as hot in there but as a rule of thumb it is better not to at all times.

  14. NO, they will EXPLODE..........

  15. HI---- How hot is hot??  You mean like one of those rental storage units? ----- Yes the ammunion will be fine in one of these.... Just put them in a box near (not on) the floor, as a matter of fact anywhere except near the ceiling....  I wouldnt leave ammunition in a hot storage unit for years and years..... I'm not a gun powder / chemical / ammo expert but I cant imagine all those heat / cool off / freeze / thaw / damp /dry cycles would be good for ammunition long term..... If its for a few months then this stuff will be ok.... Last month I found a box of .223 that I left in an unheated damp tractor shed that I recall putting there in a hurry in 1998..... It all fired fine surprisingly.... But wouldnt recommend doing this......

  16. All ammunition maker recommend the proper storage of ammunition is a cool dry place.

  17. No. Keep bullets in a cool, dry place. Anything over 100 degrees F is dangerous.
