Is it ok to keep my parrotlet in a 3/4 inch bar spacing?

is it ok to keep my handtame pacific parrotlet in a cage that has 3/4 inch bar spacing(is it wide enough that they can put their head through without a struggle) ??

  1. No, I would not put it in anything wider than 1/2 inch spaces.  Their heads are so tiny.


  2. NO! If you can't afford a decent parrot cage, you can keep a parrotlet in a cage meant for budgies or cockatiels until you can. You're seriosly endangering the life of your bird.

  3. No, 3/4" is too big for a parrotlet. 1/2" is as big as you should go. Though, 5/8" may possibly work, it may be pushing it.

  4. The short answer is NO and the reason is the bird can get his/her head caught between the cage bars - It Happens!

    Then you have to cut the cage bars to get the bird out, thus causing the bird much un-do Stress.

    one half inch bar spacing is better/safer....also cage should also have smaller and more correct sized food and water dishes..AND be much easier and better suited for his/her tiny feet to climb around in/on.
