  1. everyone needs fresh air.yes it is safe to open the windows.

  2. Well it could get real cold, or real hot where ever you live!

  3. Make sure, that no other small animals can come in from the windows, when your just  no around the baby. Fan will not Direct to the baby ! is safe only your look into all small matter.

  4. Generally speaking, the only safety issue is whether your baby overheats or gets too cold. You need to monitor for both. But let your baby be the judge. She will be letting you know if she is uncomfortable. At two months of age her body is able to regulate it's own temperature. It's when they are very newborn that it is different.

  5. as long as the windows are high so that your baby can't climb onto them then yes its safe

  6. is there anything outside of he windows to catch his fall? maybe an awning? fire escaped? passing car?

  7. I can't believe some of the answers here. The baby is TWO MONTHS OLD.The only things that you have to worry about are insect bites and kidnappers. The first one is easy, get a screen. The second, get a doberman or a gun....just joking.I have three kids and sort of have some experience.Leave the window open take the baby's clothes off save the diaper and let it be.Cover it with something thin at night or when baby is asleep.Outside air is good unless you live above a muffler shop.Let the baby develop immunity,do not overprotect it.It seems a bit unsesitive but overprotecting it actually will harm it in the future.

  8. if you always keep a look on your baby or hes in a crib or something sure, if its hot its perfectly fine to leave the windows open

  9. Yes it's fine don't worry. In those kinds of temperatures allowing the air to circulate is a good thing, just keep an eye on the bug situation. Obviously when the baby is more mobile you'll have to consider restricting his/her space.

  10. NO! babys can easily fall out. turn on the AC instead.

  11. well if you know everyone in your neighbourhood then it should be safe- and always keep an eye on your baby x if theres newbies it should be ok but KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR BABY x x congrats on birth x

  12. its safe to open the windows

its unsafe to NOT open them

    your hubby is smart

  13. Of course!  You'd rather that than they overheat.

You're doing the right thing.  Babies struggle to control their temperature so sometimes they need a helping hand.

It's unlikely a bird is ganna fly in and steal him/her!

    :-)

  14. I'm assuming you have screens on the window:) ... If you're in a safe neighborhood, then, yes, leave them open.  If it isn't that safe there, you can leave them open about 10" and get little locks for the tracks to hold them locked into place (at Home Depot - very cheap)

  15. Yes.  In fact, people should open their windows at least once a week to air the place out.  Indoor air can become more polluted than outdoor air if there isn't enough exchange of fresh air.  Air conditioning, while a nice invention, has led to more allergy problems than we've ever had before.  Your baby will be just fine if the windows are open.  You might want to turn off the A/C while the windows are open though as that is a major waste of electricity to have it running while the windows are open.

  16. Why do have the fans and a/c running with the windows open?

Try closing the windows and run the a/c  if needed put fan on to direct  to airflow from room to room

  17. Tom you need to be reported. LOL. Bad answer.LOL

You've got some really good answers on here so there's nothing I can add except to keep your eyes on the little one.

  18. Are you rich?  I don't let people open doors for more than 5 seconds when the air is running.  Call the apartment manager and get that AC fixed.  Babies lived for years before there was AC, so I guess yours will be okay.

  19. Your baby is way too young to crawl out of an open window on it's own and unless the changing table or crib is near an open window, I wouldn't worry.  Just as long as there are screens so no biting insects fly in :)  If you just can't shake the worry though (I've been there), they sell window guards.  They're like baby gates, but you s***w them into the window.  I'm giving you a link so you get the idea, but there are cheaper versions out there.  Good luck!  Hopefully disagreements about the baby stay this small :)

  20. Um if you put a safety gate in front of them... it kind of depends how high up the windows are from the floor.

  21. yes. At least until he/she is old enough to climb. Keep him/her cooler by wetting his/her t-shirt- (one idea)

It is more dangerous for the baby to get too hot.

  22. Air Con doesn't work with windows open.

Where does the cold air go when you open a fridge ?

It "falls" out all over your feet.

The same will happen the A/C running and leaving windows open.

I don't know about the US but in the UK an A/C unit supplies a minimum of 10% fresh air ALL the time it runs.

So you NEVER need to open the windows.

Do people in the US ever worry about cats laying on babies while they sleep?

  23. this is a tricky one, every mother naturally wants to protect her baby as much as she can, but there needs to be a line drawn.

It really depends where you live- in a busy/rough city? not safe.

    a quiet friendly village? safe.

if you're worried get windows fitted which open a tiny bit and then lock- or consider burglar alarms..

if windows are only open when you're in the house you should be with your baby anyway.

at night maybe consider having the baby in your room- and in the day just make sure you know he's safe.

    Good luck

    x

  24. if the ac is on you need to shut the windows and if it is a swamp cooler you open the windows, and it wont hurt your baby unless the air is so polluted that it is poison.

  25. Your baby is safer having natural air coming inside the room. AC can get the baby sick. Now, if your husband is opening the window in the middle of the night then it's not safe.

  26. Of course not!
