I was babysitting my neice and took her out to see the x-files but the movie ended at 2am. Is that too late? I figured it didn't matter because she was on summer vacation but I just want to make sure. It was 100% ok with the parents too.

  1. If it was okay with her parents then ya it's fine.

  2. I think that it's to late regardless of the summer vacation. I think 11 pm is a good time for most children to go to bed in the summer time especially if they are attending camps that following morning. Kids should be active during the summer and if they are they body wouldn't let them stay up that long.

  3. sure if it's okay with the parents

  4. it should be a one time thing and if her parents were ok with it then its fine

  5. vvell its up to the parents so if the vvere fine vvith it then theres no problem. Its ok to have a child up late once in a great vvhile if you are doing something, but I vvouldnt vvant my 9 year old up that late every night.

  6. once in a rare while in the summer.  why not.

  7. while I wouldn't get in the habit of it, I guess its ok if its a one off.

  8. It is summer vacation and its not something that will happen often, so  I believe that it's fine. Just as long as your niece doesn't come accustomed to this, it's a-okay

  9. No its not terrible but that is really late and there are some crazy people out there at that time you know ?! As long as she got the right amount of sleep and everything it isn't a really big deal, and she's nine, why not stay out that late once in a while before school starts again !!! lol

  10. well, if its ok with the parents then yeah

  11. it really depends how many hours they need of sleep

  12. As a special event, I don't see anything wrong with it.  I would be concerned if it was an everyday thing, however, because a child's circadean rhythms can get badly out of whack, and school will start in another month or so.  In your case, I don't think it's a problem.  Now, as to whether the X-Files movie is appropriate for a 9 year old, I'd say that's up to the child's parents.

  13. For a special occasion, or every once in a while, i don't see why not. Especially if there is no school or obligations tha next day (like her being in a wedding).
