Is it ok to let my two 7 year old parakeets with unclipped wings fly away in Massachusetts? They have been in a cage together for 7 years, and their wings have never been clipped, and they have never come out of their cage.

  1. Better to let them be free and possibly die than to live trapped for the rest of their lives.

  2. I can guarantee you that they won't survive. Once you let them out of their cage, they will separate and fly in different directions.  They will not know what to eat or where to find their food. There are many predators such as cats, larger birds, snakes that can prey on your little budgies. They don't have the instinct to survive. If you don't want them, give it to someone who has time for them.

  3. birds -plains-death

mean anything plz dont do it give them to some one who wants them

  4. Most captive birds who are't properly taught how to fly (ascend, descend, turn, and other manuevers) won't make it in the wild because they do not possess the flight skills outdoor wild birds do in order to get away from them. So really, you would more than likely be sending them to their death as they won't know what they can and can't eat or what is dangerous and what itsn't.

It's natural for birds who get out to fly higher and higher and as they do, because they don't know how to properly descend (the hardest skill to learn) the air gets thinner and thinner and they eventually pass out.

You may want to give them to a wildlife center where they can be kept in a large aviary or build a large aviary yourself for them.

  5. NO NO NO this will be the death of them they are use to being fed and cared for you will kill these birds for sure if cant tend for any more give to some one who will or call a bird rescue to come pick up these. The birds didn't ask to be your pets so give them all the opticians live you made this decision  so deal with them if cage is to small get a bigger one for God sake. This is why we have so many animals in the world now people like you get (gotta have thing ) then when they get bigger its easier to toss out than to fix the problem.

  6. They will die. If you want them to have more room get a big cage. Or if you dont want them give them to someone who does. Or find someone with a Avairy.

I caught one of my parakeets outside and he was skinny. Now hes almost as big as my other parakeet.

    Dont turn them loose
