And then paint the rest 4 hours later, or should it all be done at the same time?

  1. Yes

  2. i think white trim and ceilings make the other color your painting stand out more

  3. Depends. Are you trying to get an idea of what it is going to look like or are you trying to finish.?

  4. Painting a room could take a lot of stamina if you are not used to painting.  You might plan to do one part one day and the rest another day.  After a day of painting your arm will be very tired.

  5. yes, actually that's the best way to do it

if you paint trim right away and its only 1/2 way dry and still tacky, it could pull away and make your roller clumpy

Martha Stewart recommends painting trim (2 coats) and letting it dry overnight. Then roll the next day.

  6. sure.  paint the trim first (apply a second coat if needed) then wait and paint the walls later.  nothing wrong with that.  it doesn't have to be done all at once.  if i were painting, i would either paint the trim first then the walls, or vice versa.  good luck!
