Is it ok to park in safeway for long time?

i cant get a school parking permit right now so is it ok if i park in a safeway parking lot not too far away from my school for like 8hours? around 7 am - 2:30 pm. will i get towed?

  1. why not carpool with a friend or even take public transit

    the lot mostly likely will be  private and  you might find your car towed

    and that would cost a heck more then a school parking permit

    towing fees and impound costs

Safeway's parking lot, and others like it, are private property.  If your vehicle is noticed to be in the lot every day for long periods of time, and you are NOT an employee, you do run the risk of having it towed.  The only protection is to speak to the manager regarding your situation.  They may accomodate you... but it is still no guarantee.

  3. If you park there for a long time, don't be surprised if someone leaves a note on your windshield telling you not to park there. The parking lot is for people who shop at safeway. There should be a sign somewhere telling you that.

  4. You shouldn't get towed, it really depends on the laws of your town/city. But you shouln't get towed, unless there is a specified time limit or something. I think it should be safe. Unless you live in a town/city that has a high rate in car theft.
