  1. I tried to have two maids of honor and two best man (no other bridesmaids or groomsmen).  Since only one of each could sign as witnesses, the other two somehow ended up being demoted just a bridesmaid and groomsmen by the time the wedding was done.  I'm not saying it can't be done.  But if it is really important to you to keep them both as maids of honor and best man, you will need to make sure they take turn alternating duties, and that you continually reiterate to all of the professionals you deal with that it is two maids of honor and two best man.  Otherwise the professionals will start referring to them and treating them as maids of honor and bridesmaids and best man and groomsman.

  2. it is a little weird but it is your wedding.  You are not going to avoid the issue with this choice however because you wil still have to choose one of them to hold your groom's ring and your bouquet during the ceremony.  You could make it even more awkward by splitting those duties but you STILL can only pick one to sign you marriage licence as witness.  So just make a choice and be done with it.

  3. You can have two, but you will still have to pick who will stand next to you (which will help you with your dress, hold the bouquet, etc.) I would just pick one, and I'm sure your sister would understand.   I am having a maid and a matron of honor, but only one best man.  :)  Hope that helps.
