  1. My rule of thumb is, replace the first broken spoke, but once the second spoke goes it's time to re-lace the wheel with new spokes. This is because the spokes that are left must take up the extra strain, weakening them. You will continue to break spokes until you break down and replace them all at once. If you ride with 5 broken spokes, you risk breaking your hub or rim, too.

  2. If you are out riding and you break a spoke or two just ride at a slower pace or if you are off-road back it down at bit. Riding with one or two spokes missing on a rim is not a good thing due to the additional stress placed on the other spokes, get them replaced soon. Now you state 4~5 spokes if these are all on the same rim get then fixed before you have a major crash as the rim can twist and cause the bike to wobble, or do unrepairable damage to the rim. If 4~5 spokes are broken on the same rim take it to a bike shop and get them ALL replaced, you also might want to tell the bike shop what type of riding you are doing and they might have a recommendation on how to keep this from happening again.

  3. if you don't do anything aggressive on the bike it would  probable be fine.

  4. I wouldn't recommend it.  The spokes keep the structure of the wheel and help support your weight. And since the only thing between you and the road are the wheels, you want your wheel to be safe.  Plus your wheel must be really out ot true and hitting against your brakes, which can result in less-than-ideal braking.

  5. If you want to crash horribly, lose some teeth and maybe brake a few bones, then yes

  6. its fine to ride a bike with a few missing spokes,  are they missing in the same spot or different spots? its not dangerous your just more likely to buckle your rim and put more preussure on the other spokes.

  7. DO NOT ride that bike, go to your local bike shop and have them put in new spokes, and make sure they true the bike weel, if you ride it the weel will become mishapen and you many have to replace the weel

  8. It depends on where they are. If they are spaced around the wheel and not all in one spot, you might be ok.

However, here is my advice: buy some spokes right away. They are really cheap, and any good bike shop will measure them for you and sell you what you need. Then, just remove the tire and tube and rubber cover and s***w them in place with a little spoke wrench (cheap).

Tighten them gradually all at the same so the wheel does not wobble. Small adjustments will prevent a wobbly wheel. If you have any trouble just take it back to the shop and they will "true" the wheel for a modest fee. No big deal.

If this is too hard for you, then ask the shop to fix the spokes for you.

If you have no money and no one can help you out, start walking.

driving it as is could well be dangerous as the wheel will lose some of its strength. It could just get wobbly, or worse, it might collapse when you are driving (although this is unlikely, I would not want to bet against it).

    Safety. That's it.

  9. no you will end up in the ER
