I bought a jar of Classico vodka sauce (it's like a rosee sauce). Is it ok to serve this to kids? I'm sure the amount of vodka in the whole jar is pretty small and my kids would only be having 1/2 cup or so on pasta.

  1. Yes, it is okay to serve this to kids. Alcohol is used often times for flavor and the majority of the part that would intoxicate the body is cooked out.

For example: my church uses real wine during comunion and all the kids take the same comunion. To remove the alcohol content, a small piece of bread is placed in the bottle....same concept.

    The kids will be fine.

For further assuarnce, children across the world are served alcoholic beverages, often time for celebrations of sort.

  2. There is no alcohol in the sauce.... so it is safe to serve.

  3. Yes it is because the alcohol cooks off. My aunt makes her pasta sauce like that and it is amazing!

  4. Relax.

The alcohol burns off and only the flavor remains in the sauce.

  5. As long as it isn't vodka with a splash of tomato I'm sure you are fine.

  6. Yes, as long as it is cooked well after it is added. If it is splashed in right before you are going to serve it, then no. Alcohol cooks out of food. Oh, and if it comes in the jar, you can pretty much the alcohol is cooked out especially if it doesnt say contains ?% alcohol.

  7. Yes it's safe.  The alcohol evaporates out of anything when you cook it.

  8. if youre trying to put them to bed early lol jk

  9. As the others have said, as soon as the liquor/wine/etc. hits the heat, the alcohol burns off.  It's used for the flavoring, just like brandy sauces, wine sauces, etc.

  10. The alcohol evaporated when it was it cooked.  There is no alcohol content in the bottled sauce. Kids should like vodka sauce as it has a mellow flavor.

  11. i don't think it would hurt them, but if nething, they'll sleep good...that's always a plus!!!! :)

  12. When you cook with alcohol, it evaporates, so its perfectly fine.

  13. Yes.  All the alcohol is cooked out of it.

If there were any alcoholic content to it, you wouldn't be able to buy it without an ID.

  14. Yes, it evaporates when cooked. Even if still a small amount it should not hurst them.
