  1. yeah it should be okay to shave a cat

i wouldnt if its an outdoor cat

  2. shaving a cat is not eliminating  fleas, and vets wont do it for any reason other than matted fur or if the cat needs an operation, then they will only shave some of the fur.you will need front line spot on for each cat and advantage household spray..you have to do the home as well as the cats.

fleas and eggs can lay dormant in homes for years and until you get rid of them from the house or cat the problem will persist without the right treatment..if their is to many which is classed as a infestation you can contact  your local environmental health  department who will advise you or do the service for a small fee.

  3. you can shave it some cats are shaved. you can can bring your cats to the vet or the groomers and they will cut or shave your cats fur if you like

  4. Check with your vet. But I would think as long as you keep them inside and not in the weather it may work.

  5. Go to animal doctor and lets he tell you what to do.

Dont shave your cats it can cause stress, shock and etc. on your cats

  6. Make sure the stuff you're putting on the back of their neck is bought at an animal hospital and not a pet store. The stuff in pet stores doesn't kill all the fleas. Try Advantage, I use it on my cat and dogs, it works. Treat the house for fleas. Fleas lay eggs in the carpet, sofa, cat's bed, your bed, etc. If your cats go outside, have the yard treated too.

To answer your question, I think it's ok, but it won't solve your flea problem!

  7. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a shaved cat. Frontline Plus (from the vet) does work and ought to be used monthly, to prevent any fleas or ticks. My cats do not go outdoors, but the dog does. We use Frontline Plus on all the critters. =^..^=

  8. Shaving a cat can be very traumatic.  I will only shave my Persian when her fur is severely matted and she has to be sedated by the vet for the procedure.  I have always had luck with Advantage with my cats and my dog.  However, when my little ones were too young for advantage, we would comb the cats using a fine tooth comb, i.e. a lice comb.  As you comb them out, you can dip the comb in hot water to help kill the fleas. However, this wont kill the fleas on rugs, furniture, etc...

  9. It's fine, just make sure the cat stays indoors because shaved cats can get really cold.

  10. Take it to the doctor but some are shaved but all cats usually shed hair away.

  11. Did you try advantage? That usually works for us. But good question! My fluffy cat has bad matts and I have been wondering the same...

  12. I'll wager that the stuff you are putting on the back of their necks was bought over the counter, wasn't it? Well that is c**p and never works.

You need to get a prescription for "Revolution" or "Advantage" or one of the other prescription parasiticides. It is especially important when you have multiple cats, since they all need to be treated with it or they will continue to give it back and forth to each other. Not to mention you and your ankles, which must be getting bitten like crazy.

After you get the Rx from the vet for your three cats, you will need to bomb your home with a good insecticide to stop the little suckers in their tracks. Think how happy you will be after you have done these few simple things.
